-
- SPFIND is a copyrighted "shareware" program written by Stan Peters.
- Be sure to read HIS documentation file as well as this one. SPFIND
- is a very nice search program with features that are not completely
- exploited by FLU.
-
- After de-arcing, copy FLU.BAT, BAS_HELP.EXE, BASKBALL.DAT, and
- SPF.EXE to a directory on your hard drive or to a floppy disk.
- If you have enough RAM, and know how to create a "RAM disk",
- you can load these files into your RAM disk and improve the
- speed of the program.
-
- When you have logged onto the proper drive or directory, you
- are ready to go.

-
- FLU (Fast Look Up) is a DOS BATch file which searches the
- BASKBALL.DAT database using SPF.EXE and returns all of the records
- containing the key words you enter (a maximum of five key words).
- FLU has on-line help screens which display all of the key words used
- in BASKBALL.DAT. To see the help screens:
-
- At the DOS prompt type:
-
- FLU <Enter>
-
- The first two screens are introductory screens. Press any key to
- continue.
-
- The third screen is the main menu. Press a function key to get help
- on syntax and key words.
-
- To see which players have been inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame;
-
- At the DOS prompt type:
-
- FLU (HFP) <Enter>
-
- The screen will display:
-
- +- Searching> BASKBALL.DAT

- of Fame inductees. At the bottom left corner of the screen you will
- be prompted with a -- MORE -- message. If you want to see more,
- press <Enter> or the spacebar. If you want to exit to DOS, press

- If no data is displayed then the record wasn't found. This result
- can be caused by mis-spelled key words, or, as in this case, the
- fact that Joe Namath never won the Heisman Trophy.

- To find out what awards Joe Namath did recieve:
-
- At the DOS prompt type:
-
